First off, I am heterosexual. But i am Pro-Gay on the concepts of them being able to marry. I feel that if someone loves someone enough, they should be able to be acknowledged through the courts as such.
How do you feel about Gay Marriage. Why do you think it would be good, or bad for society as a whole?
Ok i have nothing wrong with gay people but im glad that proposition 8 was passed i believe that marriage is a tradition between a man and a woman not a man and a man but iv said it before and what do the pro prop 8 people put into my mouth? hate they think because i belive in traditional marriage that im only doing it due to hate and that is what i really hate.

I feel Gay's are abnormal people who are like maniacs. Man-man marriage looks more of a lust based, than loved based. The world should not allow gay marriages to take place, it should be banned in all countries.

Well that just sounds ignorant, to be honest. As far as gay marriage goes, I really don't care one way or another because it has absolutely no effect on my life whatsoever. I do, however, believe they should at least be offered the right to a civil union, where they will receive the monetary benefits a married couple would.

Homosexuality is an abnormality. The test for being normal is to see that if 100% population is of the said type, will the society run smoothly, and can the society do without any problems if there wasn't a single person of the said type. Since, if 100% population was homosexual, the society won't see a next generation, and society can do very well if there wasn't a single homosexual, we can say that homosexuality is an abnormality.
However, each person has a right to be his way if he is not causing any harm to others or isn't depriving them of their rights. Homosexuality cannot be acquired by observation and no one is likely to get inspired to marry the same sex by watching his neighbour do so. And so, I strongly believe that same sex marriages should be made legal.

from tradition a marriage is between a man and a women not between man and man. leting gay marriage will surely destroy the society with a great impact on children mind..

How will it destroy society?
It hasn't been so long since people thought that black people were inferior and that interracial marriages were 'unnatural' and would destroy society. It's just bigotry and ignorance.

For example, let's say I take women. If 100% of the population were females, there wouldn't be a next generation. Therefore, being a woman is abnormal.
Let's take doctors. If 100% of the population were doctors, there would be no food or clothes or needed items to survive. The economy collapses. Therefore, being a doctor is abnormal.

It sounds illogical. It is good that most of the countries in the world don't accept gay marriages and they are never accepted. People are more civilized when dealing with gays. Gays will live together, why tarnish the image of marriage? Marriage is between man and woman, the name of marriage cannot be tarnished by substituting it with something abnormal.

Why would gay couples tarnish the image of marriage? And in what way? Marriage is between man and woman AS OF NOW. A hundred years ago women weren`t allowed to vote, was the image of voting tarnished by letting them do it? Women weren`t allowed to wear pants either, how did the image of pants get altered?

Gays want to marry. It doesn't "tarnish" marriage. Separate but equal isn't.
It still sickens me that there is a lot of ignorance regarding this.
Homosexuals are HUMAN BEINGS. They have the right to love who they wish.
Who gets to determine that homosexuality is unnatural?
It's been present in society since history records began. It is a part of society today. The only rejection it receives is from close-minded people, who are either prejudiced or claim the bible is the law of nature.
It is now.
This is the year 2008. It's been 2000 or so years since the bible was supposedly written as god's words, societies have advanced, mutated, and developed into what we know today.
These people, love the same sex, romantically. Only by law marriage is defined as the union of MAN and WOMAN in matrimony. The law should not be involved in love, this is a primital human nature that does not deserve such a restriction.
I think Proposition 8 was unfair, especially since, formerly, homosexuals could get married for a while, and thus, those that have will have their marriage annulled.
How heartbreaking.
Their feelings do not affect us, but our hatred and prejudiced affects them when laws are passed to restrict them from the right to marry the person they love.

I'm in favour of gay marriage and it's just a matter of time until we "all" are. Just like women voting, black people voting, abolishment of slavery... where a matter of arguement at the time, we all consider these basic and essential rights. A woman not being able to vote seems outrageous (unluckily, in places like Saudi Arabia, it doesn't...). Our children will probably look back and surprise themselves, when they find out that homosexual marriage was not allowed. I mean, the real question should be: "Why not?".
It seems to me that most of it comes from outdated religious views, seeing us over 50% of the world's population is dominated by the 3 Abrahamic Religions (Islam, Judaism and Christianity), which are based (either partly or completly) on the Old Testament, where one can find such gems us Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." (King James version). Luckily, in the 21st century, we're starting to move away from religion and no longer obtain our moral values and ethics, from acient holy books.
Marriage has been seen as something associated with religion, however in the future, i'd say it'll be more of a traditional and symbolic event, as well as a legal state.

love knows no gender. both men and women can fall in love. so why cant a woman love a woman, or a man love a man. i noticed that when thoses of you agaisnt gay marriage only mentioned men, never lesbians.
why shouldnt two people in love be forced to live like that? its horrible to think that we think of our society are equal yet we are not in so many ways.
it will not teach children evil. you teach your kids what you want, and ill teach mine what i want, but leave other peoples sexuallity out of it.

1- I love how you completely ignore the existence of lesbians. Thats probably because you think their hot, but the idea of two guys finding something special in each other makes you think too much.
2- Marriage and lust go together like snails and salt mines. You can go out and have as much gay sex as you want without getting married (and in fact if your going to sleep around it's probably better that you don't) Gay people marry for the same reason strait people do, because they want to spend the rest of their life with that person. What does denying them that basic human right get you?

I am in no way homophobic although I am straight. What people do in the privacy of their own homes is their business. Affection in public should have its limits - for EVERYONE - straight and gay.
I will however say - god made adam and eve, not adam and steve.
BUT I am not a religious person anyway, so I won't put too much emphasis on that.
Don't want to sound like a hypocrite.
I have had gay friends, and they respect my heterosexuality as much as I respect their homosexuality. If you are not being personally attacked, harassed, intimidated or forced by homosexuals, why give them a hard time?
Love is love ....... irrespective of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or age.
It is called discrimination. Live and let live!
its the practice of non-religious people...as no prophet on earth preached or practiced such act instead its a prohibited act. Gays are atheists so they think they can do anything they want....no arguments!
Gay marriage is old but now it has gained momentum in 21st century due to the sheer population explosion and depression etc.. because it hasnt been the practice of trillions of our ancestors.
it is un-natural ! everything is created in pairs so respect that for God's sake

Really...so this guy is an atheist?
http://www.nhepiscopal.org/bishop/bishop.html
While I myself am agnostic, the main biblical arguments against homosexuality come from Leviticus, which also defends slavery as a godly institute, and lumps the consumption of selfish as an abomination, on the same level as homosexuality.
So, if you have consumed shrimp, you must be an atheist.

I have yet to hear any reason given why gay marriage shouldn't be legal that couldn't be turned around and used as a reason why divorce should be illegal (from it goes against God to it breaks apart the family unit).
I saw a great protest sign the other day, it read "Jesus had 2 daddies, why can't I?"
People go on and on about "traditional marriage" but yet they fail to acknowledge that marriage has changed over time. The Bible actually has 8 different types of marriage in it, which one is the right one?
Personally I don't think the government should be involved in the marriage business at all, it is crazy that people need to go to the state and ask permission (which is what a license is when you boil it down) to spend your life with the person (or persons) you choose. Why do people put up with that crap?
